The collection
Beni Ourain rugs originate from the Beni Ourain tribal territory high in the Middle Atlas mountains, where winters are cold and wool is the most useful material there is. Woven from natural undyed sheep fleece in ivory and dark brown, they were made first as blankets, not as decoration. Their bold geometric lines caught the attention of mid-century designers like Le Corbusier, who brought them into the modernist interior. They have not left since.
