Tafukt ("the sun" in Amazigh)
An Ait Zemmour flat-weave in one saturated red, crossed by fine lines of saffron yellow and near-black. Zemmour weavers of the Middle Atlas leave out the medallion and let stripes set the rhythm. The weave is tight and supple, made to be walked on, hung, or thrown over a bench. It warms a room the way low sun does.
