Zina ("adornment")
A Zayani kilim from the Middle Atlas, where the Zayane confederation has worked wool for generations. Every band is filled: lozenges, hooks and small crosses in deep red, bottle green and cream, set edge to edge so the eye never finds an empty ground. Black wool fringe is knotted by hand at both ends. Dense, dark and quietly busy, a small rug that rewards being looked at slowly.
