Sabra ("the prickly pear")
A cactus silk kilim, woven from agave fibre that is pulled from the leaf and spun until it takes a soft lustre wool cannot match. The ground is bark brown, crossed by bands of small diamonds and dashes in cream, rose, teal and ochre. The sheen shifts as the light moves through the room. A quiet rug that looks different at nine in the morning and at six in the evening.
